Get fun and practical ideas for how you can support your child's language development at home. This workshop will be presented by Christian Wright, Private Speech Language Therapist and will cover: 

• what parents should expect of typical speech and language development, 

• important milestones, 

• strategies to support speech sound and language development. 

There will also be a question & answer session at the end of the workshop to ensure you leave with a “next step” for your child.  

This is a free workshop for parents and whānau of children enrolled with Hutt City Kindergartens.

"Christian has been working as a full time Speech Language Therapist since 2001. Over the past two decades he has worked alongside families to help support their preschool and school aged children to develop a wide range of communication skills. Christian is experienced in all kinds of speech and language delays and disorders and the subsequent impact on a child’s day to day life. He also works to support communication, and problem solve wider issues of socialisation and development in children with Autism and other developmental disabilities. Christian believes it is crucial to equip and inspire children and the adults who surround a child on a day-to-day basis with the skills needed to promote communication development. For this reason, he is passionate about helping parents to develop their knowledge and skills in this area through his presentations and workshops.
Christian has six children ranging in age from 10 months to 20 years old. He is well experienced in the highs and lows of the parenting journey which helps bring a practical focus to his work with families."
