Who are we?

Hutt City Kindergartens have been growing young learners for over 90 years in Lower Hutt, providing quality and affordable early childhood education. Our teaching teams are passionate about providing rich learning environments where children can explore, develop and have fun. We welcome people who can share in that passion.

We are a not-for-profit dedicated to making quality early childhood education accessible to all. We have 19 soon to be 20 kindergartens throughout the Hutt Valley, including Stokes Valley, Central Hutt, Western Hill and Wainuiomata. We are proud to be an integral part of our local community and celebrate our cultural diversity and identity.

About our new kindergarten

We are opening Nettie Riley Kindergarten at the Health Hub on Witako Street, expected to opening date is  mid-August.

This will be an all-year service for two to five year olds that will offer options from 7.30am to 5.30pm. This is a change from the traditional Kindergarten session which will meet the needs of many families in the Hutt Valley.

The Kindergarten will be located in the new Health Hub building that also houses Ropata Health and is adjacent to Hutt Hospital. It is an impressive building that has been built to the highest earthquake specifications.

We are looking for energetic and dedicated Teachers to  service.

All candidates must hold a:

  • Minimum of Dip. Tch (ECE)
  • Teaching certification from NZ Teaching Council
  • Current First Aid certificate

We offer competitive pay rates, 6 weeks’ annual leave and paid professional time.
