Marketing and Communications Manager

  • Part time - 20 hours per week.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Marketing & Communications Manager to design, implement and be the owner of all things Marketing and Communications.

Who are we?

Hutt City Kindergartens have been growing young learners for over 90 years in Lower Hutt, providing quality and affordable early childhood education. Our teaching teams are passionate about providing rich learning environments where children can explore, develop and have fun. We welcome people who can share in that passion.

We are a not-for-profit dedicated to making quality early childhood education accessible to all. We have 20 kindergartens throughout the Hutt Valley, including Stokes Valley, Central Hutt, Western Hill and Wainuiomata. We are proud to be an integral part of our local community and celebrate our cultural diversity and identity.

The position

Enrolments are the key to financial sustainability of the association, a priority of this position is to increase roles and keep the pipeline of pre-enrolments full. 

This will be achieved through engaging the community, using various forms of media, advertising and general marketing.

A key requirement for the position is flexibility and the willingness to undertake a variety of tasks to ensure the Association can achieve the required outputs. Outputs include:

  • Community engagement strategy
  • Marketing & communications strategy
  • Kindergarten enrolment support.

Being a versatile, self-assured and outstanding communicator is essential for your success in this role. As well as the ability to work independently and drive the marketing and communications for our Association.

Other requirements are:

  • You enjoy working with a high degree of autonomy
  • Have a relevant tertiary marketing/communications qualification
  • Experience in managing social media channels, web content, InDesign, Photoshop and Mailchimp
  • Work collaboratively with others in the team
  • Demonstrate forward thinking; anticipating implications and preparing possible contingencies
  • Show initiative
  • Be a positive, engaging and approachable person with great relationship building skills
  • Be proactive, have integrity and a client focussed approach
  • Have excellent attention to detail; ensuring information is complete and accurate.
