Who are we?
Hutt City Kindergartens have been growing young learners for 95 years in Lower Hutt, providing quality and affordable early childhood education. Our teaching teams are passionate about providing rich learning environments where children can explore, develop and have fun. We welcome people who can share that passion.
We are a not-for-profit dedicated to making quality early childhood education accessible to all. We have 20 kindergartens throughout the Hutt Valley, including Stokes Valley, Central Hutt, Western Hill and Wainuiomata. We are proud to be an integral part of our local community and celebrate our cultural diversity and identity.
About Sun Valley Kindergarten
At Sun Valley Kinergarten we place a strong emphasis on Whangaungatanga (relationships) as a foundation for teaching and learning. Our warm and friendly teaching team is passionate about providing inclusive learning opportunities within our modern, spacious and well-resourced environment.

The position
We are looking for a qualified and enthusiastic kindergarten teacher to bring their passion and enthusiasm to Sun Valley Kindergarten.
To be successful, you will need to:
have knowledge and understanding of Te Whāriki
be a flexible team player, with a "can do" attitude
value and celebrate each child’s unique personality
be able to work in partnership with whānau and the community
have a great sense of humour.
Applicants must hold a:
Minimum of Dip. Tch (ECE or Primary)
Current Practicing Certificate from the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand
Current First Aid certificate
We offer competitive pay rates, 6 weeks’ annual leave and paid professional time during term breaks.
