Stokes Valley Kindergarten - Part Time Teacher

  • Permanent Part-time - 16 hours a week 
  • Monday - Friday, 12.00pm - 1.30pm.  The remaining hours are negotiable

Who are we?

Hutt City Kindergartens have been growing young learners for over 90 years in Lower Hutt, providing quality and affordable early childhood education. Our teaching teams are passionate about providing rich learning environments where children can explore, develop and have fun. We welcome people who can share in that passion.

We are a not-for-profit dedicated to making quality early childhood education accessible to all. We have 20 kindergartens throughout the Hutt Valley, including Stokes Valley, Central Hutt, Western Hills and Wainuiomata. About Stokes Valley Kindergarten

The team at Stokes Valley Kindergarten is passionate about providing learning experiences that focus on the interests and needs of tamariki. The child certainly is ‘the heart of the matter’ at our kindergarten. Our well-developed outdoor area with numerous gardens, is complemented by a spacious and well-resourced indoor play area.

We are inspired by innovative learning spaces and strive to develop experiences alongside children that are filled with curiosity and wonder. Tamariki are encouraged to lead their own learning here and the team is committed to providing ongoing learning experiences that reflect children’s interest through play.

​The position

We are are looking for an energetic and dedicated part-time teacher to join the team at Stokes Valley Kindergarten.  This role will cover lunch breaks and Head Teacher release time and has some flexibility (outside of the required 12 - 1.30pm hours).

Tamariki will benefit from having another teacher who will bring their own unique skills and interests to the kindergarten and you will love working with a small team of experienced and passionate professionals.

Applying for this role

Applicants must hold a:

  • Minimum of Dip. Tch (ECE or Primary)
  • Current Practicing Certificate from the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand
  • Current First Aid certificate.

We offer competitive pay rates, 6 weeks annual leave and paid professional time during term breaks.
