Heather, our Guru for all things Payroll related, is sadly leaving us. We are seeking her replacement to join our Association Team.

Who are we?

Hutt City Kindergartens have been growing young learners for over 90 years in Lower Hutt, providing quality and affordable early childhood education. Our teaching teams are passionate about providing rich learning environments where children can explore, develop and have fun. We welcome people who can share in that passion.

We are a not-for-profit dedicated to making quality early childhood education accessible to all. We have 20 kindergartens throughout the Hutt Valley, including Stokes Valley, Central Hutt, Western Hill and Wainuiomata. We are proud to be an integral part of our local community and celebrate our cultural diversity and identity.

The position

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Advisor to join our team of committed and passionate professionals.  You will be responsible for processing the fortnightly payroll, answering queries relating to the payroll, undertaking all the administration related to the payroll and providing general support to the Management team.

Hours are 20 per week, hours and days worked will be mutually agreed with the successful candidate.

So what are we looking for...

You'll need to be an experienced Payroll Advisor who enjoys working with a high degree of autonomy.  You'll be an energetic and versatile individual, be self-assured and an outstanding communicator. 

Ideally you will:

  • Have excellent attention to detail; ensuring information is complete and accurate.
  • Confident in using Microsoft Excel.
  • Be willing to roll your sleeves up to get the job done.  This means being comfortable at providing payroll advice, problem solving, down to paperwork and filing.
  • Be a positive, engaging and approachable person with great relationship building skills.
  • Be proactive, have integrity and a client focussed approach.
  • Having knowledge of DataPay would be an advantage.
