Koraunui Kindergarten - part-time KidsCan Teacher Support
Permanent part-time position - 10 hours a week
Monday - Friday, 11am - 1pm
We are an all-year kindergarten, so remain open during the school holidays
You'll be responsible for morning tea and lunch preparation for the kindergarten tamariki
Who are we?
Hutt City Kindergartens have been growing young learners for over 95 years in Lower Hutt, providing quality and affordable early childhood education. Our teaching teams are passionate about providing rich learning environments where children can explore, develop and have fun. We welcome people who can share in that passion.
We are a not-for-profit dedicated to making quality early childhood education accessible to all. We have 20 kindergartens throughout the Hutt Valley, including Stokes Valley, Central Hutt, Western Hills and Wainuiomata. About Koraunui Kindergarten
Koraunui Kindergarten is located in the heart of Stokes Valley, offering a stimulating environment for tamariki to learn and play. The interests and culture of our tamariki are reflected in our environment with lots for them to explore, discover and play.
As an all-year service, the kindergarten remains open during term breaks, with a two-week closure period over Christmas / New Year and on public holidays.
We are fortunate to have the support of KidsCan, the charitable organisation that provides tamariki with food for morning tea and lunch every day.
The position
We are looking for a reliable and conscientious person living in the Stokes Valley area, who can work Monday – Friday, 11am – 1pm (10 hours per week).
The position requires you to prepare the food and put it onto individual plates for tamariki. There are also clean-up duties involved, including stacking and emptying the dishwasher, and keeping the kitchen clean and hygienic.
To be ideal for this role you will be:
Able to commit to working 5 days per week, for 2 hours each day
Reliable, dependable and trustworthy - the Teachers count on you to be there
Comfortable in the kitchen, and able to prepare the provided KidsCan food
Aware of the importance of kitchen hygiene and safe food preparation methods.
All the meals that are provided come with preparation instructions and are simple to make - you don’t need to be a super-confident cook!
You’ll enjoy being part of a small team, doing a job that is vital to the smooth running of the kindergarten. No previous childcare experience is necessary, but if you love kids that will help!
