Who are we?

Hutt City Kindergartens have been growing young learners for over 90 years in Lower Hutt, providing quality and affordable early childhood education. Our teaching teams are passionate about providing rich learning environments where children can explore, develop and have fun. We welcome people who can share in that passion.

We are a not-for-profit dedicated to making quality early childhood education accessible to all. We have 20 kindergartens throughout the Hutt Valley, including Stokes Valley, Central Hutt, Western Hill and Wainuiomata. We are proud to be an integral part of our local community and celebrate our cultural diversity and identity.

About our Kindergarten

Our kindergarten sits on a sheltered sunny site at the end of a long driveway off Durham Crescent – close to the local primary school. Our families frequently tell us what a vibrant and welcoming environment it is! 

We are privileged to have a very supportive community of family and whanau, where new members are warmly welcomed.Our teaching team places huge importance on listening to the children, developing an understanding of them and getting to know them really well, so we can provide them with a wide range of experiences to support their individual learning needs.

We are looking for an energetic and dedicated teacher to join the team, tamariki and whānau at Epuni Kindergarten.

Applicants must hold a:

  • Minimum of Dip. Tch (ECE)
  • Full certification
  • Current First Aid certificate

We offer competitive pay rates, 6 weeks’ annual leave and paid professional time during term breaks.
